Five Fictional Business Ideas

Business #1 -  In a Pretty Package - This is a business that offers services and products to help organize the home, business and office.  In a Pretty Package will have typical containers and then artistic and beautifully crafted organizers and containers.  Containers will be hand-painted, thematic, crafted in the USA and Italy.  They will range in price and complexity.  With every purchase, clients will receive a free organizing consultation. This is a business that provides elaborate boxes, bins and dividers. The Icon would be a bin with Vincent van Gogh's Bedroom at Arles and the words In a Pretty Package on a photo on the wall in the painting.

Business #2 -  Nag No More - This is a phone app for college students.  Rather than have your parents nagging you about getting your work done, this app is designed to give students a fresh new look at their study habits and time management.  The way the app will work is that each student will upload their schedules, assignments, extra curricular activities and days off into the app.  The app will estimate time for each project, study time etc.  The student will click the app when working on a project and the app will update.  Rather than being told "You have a test in two days." This app will tell the students "You must not sleep for two days in order to get your paper done on time."  The app is designed to tell students when their study and project planning is unrealistic.

Business #3 - Toast of the Town - This is an elaborate event and party-planning business.  The Toast of the Town will plan and execute all your party needs.  These events are designed for events with 100 or more people.  We will plan events in any state or country.  We will provide set-up, take down, decorations, food, invitations, and all your other party needs.  Toast of the Town - The icon would be a wine glass with Toast of the town in etched letters.

Business #4 - Adventure Photography - This is a company that takes action photos of your family vacations.  The logo might be a map of the US with Adventure Photography sprawled out across it.

Business #5 -  Letters From the Heart - This is a stationary store.  Our store will create customized stationary that you will sit down and design with one of our top of the line graphic designers.  What makes us unique is that we will create your stationary based on designs you create!  Every design is yours... !!! Letters from the Heart  - The icon would be a letter with the words "Letters from the" written in calligraphy and ending at a stamp of a heart.

Introduction for Art 210-A

I am a mom of four college students - J a senior at UT (cyber security); N a junior at UT (economics ); M is a junior at UT ( biology with an emphasis in business pre-med); and A is a freshman at Boston University (neuroscience).   My husband recently retired from the Army and now works in the ICU at Tampa General.  Since 1984, as a high school freshman, I have worked as a professional journalist.  During that time, I have worked as both a staff writer and freelancer.  I have written for newspapers all over the country as well as numerous magazines.

This class is part of the requirements for my second degree (I earned a degree in English Literature and Art History) in Advertising and Public Relations.  I hope to learn how to use the Adobe programs  and to create artistic designs.  This program is a foundation for the work I plan to do upon graduation so I want to learn the most intricate details of using these programs!
